Tennessee basketball’s projected 2021-2022 starting lineup
Other reserves
Jonas Aidoo
Freshman; 6’11” 230 pounds; Hometown: Durham, N.C.
Another four-star in Tennessee basketball’s 2021 recruiting class, Jonas Aidoo could overtake Olivier Nkamhoua or Uros Plavsic in the postgame rotation. However, the graduate of Liberty Heights Athletic Institute in North Carolina will likely be the first guy out of the two-deep rotation and spend a year developing. He’ll help make up a dominant inside game in two years, though.

Quentin Diboundje
Freshman; 6’5″ 206 pounds; Hometown: Montpellier, France
Don’t sleep on the potential for this French sharpshooter to surpass Jahmai Mashack or even Justin Powell in the rotation. The three-star out of Montverde Academy in Orange County, Fla. just outside of Orlando has good size, and refining his European finesse down in Florida recently has probably helped him develop more. Still, he’ll likely be like Aidoo for the backcourt this year.
Handje Tamba
Freshman; 7’0″ 215 pounds; Hometown: Knoxville, Tenn.
A local three-star, Handje Tamba joins Uros Plavsic as the two seven-footers. The graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School is more of a project, so he’ll also need a year, and he’s probably the one guy certain to take a redshirt. However, Tamba and Aidoo could make for a future twin towers on Rocky Top by 2023.
Walk-ons
Brock Jancek
Senior; 6’8″ 222 pounds; Hometown: Knoxville, Tenn.
Kent Gilbert
Sophomore; 6’1″ 174 pounds; Hometown: Greenville, N.C.
Isaiah Sulack
Junior; 6’5″ 170 pounds; Hometown: Knoxville, Tenn.
Cole Morris
Sophomore; 6’9″ 192 pounds; Hometown: Marietta, Ga.
As you can see, it’s safe to say Rick Barnes has plenty of options. On scholarship alone,Tennessee basketball has five guys who can run the point and at least three guys who can play every position. The Vols are going to be in good shape if they get their rotation right before the year starts.
