Louisville Cardinals vs. Ole Miss Rebels (ESPN)

Monday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. ET; Mercedes-Benz Stadium; Atlanta, Ga.

Line: Ole Miss -10; Over/Under 75.5

Moneyline: Ole Miss -390; Louisville +295

The second Chick-fil-A Kickoff game once again features two head coaches looking to take another major step. Once again, we’re looking at a program connected to Tennessee football. This time, it’s even deeper than previous programs.

More from Vols Football

Former UT head coach Lane Kiffin is entering his second season at Ole Miss. His offense made a splash last year en route to a 5-5 season, and they are a borderline top 25 program this year. Kiffin and Mike Leach are taking Mississippi by storm, but right now, Kiffin is the bigger star.

On the other hand, the Louisville Cardinals went from 8-5 to 4-7 under Scott Satterfield, but playing an ACC heavy schedule and the COVID adjustments messed them up. They will be looking to rebound and prove they have reached another level this year.

Prediction

Regardless of how you think this game is going to go, bet on the over. Kiffin is going to put up points, as he did all last year, and he’ll give up lots of points in the process. That’s the easiest bet of the week here.

As for the game itself, Ole Miss is significantly better right now. Louisville could have a winning season, but the Rebels should be too much for them to handle on a neutral field. Take them to win and cover easily.

Ole Miss: 55 Louisville: 41 (Ole Miss -10; Over 75.5)
