Prop bet No. 2: Georgia over 37.5

As mentioned on the opening slide, Georgia is the reason this game will hit the over. Look, Kentucky has a horrendous offense and scored 42 points on Tennessee football. South Carolina and Missouri scored 20 and 24 points respectively even in blowout losses, and at least SC at the time was struggling on that side of the ball due to its poor quarterback play.

Let’s break down Georgia’s offense for a minute. They’re No. 14 in the nation at 38.4 points per game, actually ahead of the Vols in scoring by one spot and second in the SEC to Alabama. The only two offenses UT has played with better scoring numbers are Bama and the Pittsburgh Panthers, and they scored 52 and 41 points respectively.

Then there’s the matchup problem. UT’s linebackers have been horrendous recently at getting off blocks and containing quarterbacks. Matt Corral of the Ole Miss Rebels and Bryce Young of Alabama had their best rushing performances against the Vols at 195 and 42 yards respectively.

Kentucky quarterback Will Levis was three yards away from his best rushing performance until two late sacks. Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett is actually more mobile than those guys are, and he’s got a better line. As a result, he could torch the Vols, so UGA hits the over easily.
