While just about everyone is focused on March Madness and Tennessee basketball going on a deep run, don't forget that Josh Heupel and the Vols are busy at spring practice. And with that, recruiting is also a focus, with some big-name targets making their way to campus.

Josh Heupel brings in elite 5-star for a key Tennessee visit

This week, 5-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown made his way to Knoxville and it's clear that he had a tremendous time on campus. In an interview with recruiting insider Chad Simmons, Brown didn't hesitate in letting him know that he had an 'amazing' time connecting with the staff. So, what's next for one of the top players in the country?

The fact that Simmons added that UT will be a 'factor in this race' is great news too, as Brown is a wanted man. Throughout his recruitment, the 6-4, 285-pounder has picked up a mind-blowing 45 offers. He's been offered by Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami and many others.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Brown is ranked five stars, the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country, No. 3 player from Texas and No. 8 prospect overall for the 2027 class. Brown is a force in the trenches and Tennessee is hoping he'll be ready to put on a show in the SEC at the next level.

In terms of recruiting stud offensive linemen, Heupel has been on fire there in the past two seasons. For the 2025 class, 5-star tackle David Sanders Jr. signed with the Vols and he was an immediate playmaker for the o-line.

For the 2026 class, Gabriel Osenda also signed with Tennessee and he's currently participating in his first spring ball. That's back-to-back years of bringing in elite talent at the position. Will Brown end up following suit? That's unknown at this time, but Tennessee is clearly making a strong push here. The Vols look like they'll be in it until Brown shuts down his recruitment.
