Tennessee has a big weekend of official visitors coming to town, with Josh Heupel and the staff hosting eight players, including five four-star prospects. Tennessee had a successful weekend last week and is looking to build on that momentum this weekend.

That said, Rivals’ Chad Simmons is hinting that Tennessee is already having a big weekend so far, and flip buzz is building. Tennessee has two prospects on campus who are committed elsewhere: Daylon Cooper, an in-state athlete committed to Florida State, and Brandon Allen Jr., a three-star cornerback committed to Mississippi State.
Tennessee will host some key targets this weekend and flip buzz is really building in Knoxville.

Flip buzz is building in Knoxville right now for Josh Heupel
With both committed players on campus, landing just one of them would be a big win for Heupel. As I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of Daylon Cooper, a South Pittsburg product. He is a two-way player who has the combination of speed, size, and competitiveness to contribute at the next level. Getting him to sign gives Tennessee a chance to evaluate where he fits best down the line, whether that’s at wide receiver or cornerback.
Cooper was the Class 1A Mr. Football winner and put up video game numbers. H e posted 1,252 yards and 17 touchdowns. I'd love to see Tennessee pull off the flip.
On the other hand, Allen would be a nice addition as well. Tennessee could use more defensive backs, and why not take one from a fellow SEC school? Allen is a 6-foot-2 corner with length and speed , something every defensive back room needs. He’s a physical player with good closing speed and a willingness to play gritty, which is needed in the Knowles scheme. Tennessee needs more size and athleticism at cornerback, so adding a young player with Allen’s skill set would be beneficial.
Overall, Tennessee has a stacked weekend of players on campus, and if they can get a couple of key pickups out of it, it would be a big win. Tennessee also has Xavier Sabb on campus, a borderline five-star safety, along with several other priority players who, if the visit goes well, could put the Vols in the driver’s seat.
It was a slow start to the official visit season, but ever since four-star tight end Malik Howard committed, Tennessee has been red hot, and the good news keeps on coming in. Now Heupel has to seal the deal.
