David Gabriel Georges' 5-TD night gives mouth-watering taste of his Tennessee future

Everyone keeps getting reminded that 5-star running back David Gabriel Georges being made a top priority by Josh Heupel and Tennessee was 100 percent the right call. In his latest game, the electric Tennessee commit put on a show. No, sorry, that doesn't fully describe the video game-type numbers this kid put up on the stat sheet for his team.

The Baylor School (Chattanooga) was in action, and Georges turned heads in a major way. How so? He carried the ball 26 times for 316 yards and five touchdowns (five!). For those of you keeping track at home, that's more than 12 yards per carry. Sure, he's doing this at the high school level, but it's hard to not get fully fired up after seeing these numbers.

As most fans can recall, the Vols were in a heated two-team battle with Ohio State to land Georges' services. In the end, though, an official visit to Knoxville helped seal the deal for Heupel and his staff, while a monster NIL deal surely made an impact as well.

It was reported that the speedster agreed to a three-year deal worth around $6 million. With that price tag, there are of course going to be monster expectations placed on the 6-0, 200-pounder. However, it also speaks volumes to the incredible amount of belief that Heupel has in DGG to be a complete and total game-changer once he makes the move to campus.

Looking ahead to next season alone, there's a good chance Georges could help form a two-headed monster with veteran running back DeSean Bishop, who is coming off a 1,000-yard season. Can you imagine the two of them making plays for 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon? Yeah, it would be incredible for the run game, especially with lineman David Sanders Jr. entering his junior campaign in 2027.

Those two have what it takes to be among the best RB duos in the country, there's no doubt about that. First, Georges has to get through his senior season, but then an exciting future is waiting for him once he joins this already-loaded Tennessee roster.

And again, the hype that will follow Georges too is going to be titanic. A $6 million NIL deal? Check. Ranked five stars and the No. 2 running back in the nation for the 2027 class behind Georgia commit Kemon Spell? Double check. That might be a ton of pressure on the teenager, but Georges keeps giving people reasons to believe he won't care about the outside noise, and he'll keep doing what he was born to do in impressive fashion - that'd be running the ball, while making would-be tacklers look silly.
