Infuriating clip shows Kentucky coach laughing at Vols kicker over missed FG
The rivalry between the Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers on the gridiron is quite fun. Well, it's fun if you love the Vols, as Tennessee has dominated things and they'll continue to do so moving forward. The 28-18 win over the weekend was the latest haymaker landed on their rivals.
While Tennessee celebrated in style, there are still some areas of concern for this team, especially on special teams. We hate to single a player out, but Max Gilbert struggled, missing three field-goal attempts in this contest.
Josh Heupel has already backed his struggling kicker, but if he's looking for extra motivation, a Kentucky coach has certainly provided that for him. A new clip has been posted on social media of said coach laughing and pointing at Gilbert after one of his misses. Seriously, man?
Kicker Max Gilbert is hoping to bounce back for the Tennessee Vols in Week 11
We can only hope Mark Stoops sees this video and reminds his staff as a whole that cameras are on them at all times - this is a pretty bad look for the Wildcats, but hey, guess who got the last laugh after the final whistle at Neyland Stadium? That'd be Tennessee.
Yes, Kentucky made things much closer than a lot of us thought this game would be, but Heupel and Co. were able to close things out. Gilbert had a night to forget, but this is a team game and the guys around him picked up their play to help wipe away his mistakes.
Against Mississippi State, though, Gilbert needs to find his kicking rhythm, as a primetime battle against Georgia is on the way for Week 12. There are going to be times where Heupel is going to send out Gilbert for a game-changing kick and he'll need him to deliver. Heupel is confident in Gilbert getting the job done. Vols fans will be ready to praise him when he connects on a pressure kick too.
