Jon Gruden wins over even more Vols fans with his Tennessee-Ohio State prediction

That's just tremendous, man. We say that in our finest Jon Gruden voice as our reaction to his picks for the 2024 College Football Playoff. Come Saturday night, the Tennessee Vols are going to be facing Ohio State and countless analysts think the Buckeyes will cruise to a win.

We obviously don't think that's going to be the case, as we're rocking with UT to post a 28-21 victory. Will the Vols move on to the College Football Playoff quarterfinals? We sure hope so. If you ask the one and only Gruden about how things are going to end, he won't hesitate with his answer. That's right, Gruden believes Josh Heupel and his players are going to leave The Shoe with a victory:

"I can't get over what Ohio State did in their season finale against Michigan," Gruden said. "I'm going to go with Tennessee as a road winner here. I love their quarterback. I think he can create with his legs and they do have two very good pass-rushers."

Tough to argue with that, Jon! With plenty of drama surrounding the Buckeyes leading up to kickoff, it's only going to potentially make the uphill climb for the Vols a bit easier. Still, though, Tennessee is going to have to be at its best on both sides of the ball to move on to the next round.

If the Vols do take down Ohio State, a Jan. 1 dance with Oregon would be on the way. Unfortunately, Gruden thinks the magic will run out in Eugene, as he has the Ducks topping Tennessee to advance to the semifinals. Still, though, we love the fact that Gruden is ready to see UT send a message against the Buckeyes. By late Saturday, we'll know if he was on the money with his pick or not.
