Yesterday morning, Rick Barnes picked up what might be his biggest get of the portal cycle in Terrence Hill Jr. from VCU. The former Ram is expected to play a big role for Tennessee next year, especially after his breakout showing in March Madness.
Latest Juke Harris news is a problem that Rick Barnes is prepared for
On the surface, this is a significant addition for Tennessee, but it gets even better. The Vols have secured a top-20 transfer in Hill, who is already contributing to recruiting efforts. On the Low-Down podcast, Hill said he is actively attempting to attract Juke Harris, the current No. 1-ranked transfer portal player per On3. If the Vols can pull this off, a great offseason would turn monumental for Rick Barnes.

“They already told me about Juke, obviously he is a great player,” said Hill Jr. “I think great players want to play with great players.”

This dynamic duo would be a spectacular addition for the Vols. Adding Harris would also mean that one of Tyler Lundblade, Dai Dai Ames, or Jalen Haralson would come off the bench, which is nuts. The Vols would boast such a deep roster with an abundance of ball handlers, something they lacked last season. Ja’Kobi Gillespie was able to create his own shot off the bounce, and Ament could as well, but outside of them, no one else consistently was a threat in that aspect.
Harris would be the final piece after a loaded offseason. The Vols already have four players averaging 15+ points per game in the portal, including Ames and Haralson from the ACC. At Belmont, Lundblade was the Missouri Valley Player of the Year, and Hill even helped VCU beat North Carolina in the tournament. Add Juke Harris to the mix, and this team looks elite.
The Tennessee roster has completely flipped from last year. Last season, it was built on toughness and physicality, often having to grind out wins. This year, it looks more like a high-powered offensive group that can win with its talent, while still maintaining the typical Rick Barnes qualities. This should fire up Tennessee fans because next year could be their very first Final Four appearance in Detroit.
