In today’s recruiting landscape, momentum can change everything, and Tennessee is beginning to generate some real traction with top prospects. Tennessee has just made the top-five for five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman from Brentwood Academy in Tennessee. Bowman is currently rated the No. 31 player in the country according to the 247Sports composite, and he's the No. 2 player in Tennessee for 2027. The Vols have always done a great job of recruiting high-level athletes, and this is another race to follow for another elite player who would slide perfectly into Josh Heupel's offense.
At 6-foot-1 and 174 pounds, Bowman is the kind of wideout who can flip the field in a heartbeat, showcasing elite shiftiness and the ability to make any acrobatic catch down the field. He was an Under Armour All-American, and he's just scratching the surface of his potential. Tennessee will have to beat out a premier group of schools, though, as Bowmna has Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, and Vanderbilt also in his top-five.

Tennessee has plenty to sell Kesean Bowman when it comes to WR's
Josh Heupel's offense is one of the most wide receiver friendly offense's in America. Plus, Tennessee also has Chris Brazzell II right on the verge of being a first-round pick this fall. If he can make it to the first round, it will only boost Tennessee's chances with Bowman, proving they can develop top-tier wideouts. Not to mention, Braylon Staley won SEC Freshman of the Year, so there is a pathway for Bowman to start early on if he's ready to go from day one.
Digging deeper, if Tennessee were to land Bowman, could you imagine a wide receiver room of Braylon Staley, TK Keys, and Bowman? That would be one of the most elite groups in America.
However, there’s still a long road ahead in his recruitment. With an official visit to Knoxville scheduled for June, a decision likely won’t come until sometime in July. That gives Tennessee valuable time to lay out its development plan and make a strong impression, but landing Bowman is going to take a full-court press.
