While Tennessee football fans have to wait until next weekend to see the Vols in action vs. Syracuse, plenty of people enjoyed high school action on Friday night. This included watching quarterback commit Faizon Brandon putting on a show to start off his senior campaign.
Brandon and his teammates over at Grimsley High (North Carolina) were in a tight battle with West Charlotte High and four quarters was not enough for a victor to be crowned. Overtime was needed and as you might have been able to expect, Grimsley put the ball in Brandon's hands with the game on the line. He delivered:

5-star QB Faizon Brandon started his senior year with a game-winning TD in overtime
In case anyone needed a reminder that Brandon is a gamer, he went ahead and delivered there to open his final season of high school ball. Brandon was fired up after that running score and understandably so. This was a tight battle and he was thrilled his team came out with the win.
It's a great start for Brandon and his chase of winning a state title. Once this campaign wraps up for him, he'll get ready to pack his bags and make the move to Knoxville to get his college career going. He's no question the future on offense for Josh Heupel and the Vols.
Brandon is currently ranked five stars, the No. 1 quarterback in the country and the No. 1 player overall by 247Sports. Multiple teams were working to flip him earlier this offseason, but he politely told teams chasing him, including North Carolina and Bill Belichick, that he's locked in with Tennessee.
The Youngster has also been helping out Heupel with the Tennessee recruiting efforts, with one big target still left on his board: Tristen Keys. Brandon hasn't minced words when asked about Keys and him potentially playing together in the SEC with the Vols. For now, Keys is an LSU verbal, but Brandon and Heupel are doing what they can do to change the fellow 5-star playmaker's mind.
