Four-star 2015 linebacker Cecil Cherry made it official on Monday and decommitted from Tennessee.
Cherry committed to Tennessee in June, 2013.
We’ve known for weeks that Cherry was leaning heavily toward Texas. His decommitment was inevitable.
Various reports in the last month have suggested that Cherry and Tennessee were “mutually parting ways”. It’s an odd end for the two, considering Cherry was one the Vols’ more vocal commits on Twitter.

The Vols will now focus their attention on four-star inside linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr.
Kirkland Jr is expected to commit on January 3.
I would expect Cherry to sign with the Texas Longhorns on National Signing Day.
