Tennessee Vols athletics will be switching to Nike July 1 after 20 years with Adidas. For the week leading up to the switch, we are recapping the Adidas era. Here are the Top 10 Tennessee Vols Men’s basketball players during that time.
While women’s basketball and football had some of its greatest success in school history during the Adidas era, men’s basketball is not to be forgotten about, even if the national championships are not there to show for it.

Like Tennessee Vols men’s basketball history, the program had massive up and down periods during the Adidas era, reaching unprecedented heights and seeing lows that most Vols fans had been used to seeing.
But overall, it was the best era in the history of the program thanks to Jerry Green, Bruce Pearl, and Cuonzo Martin. With 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, five Sweet Sixteen appearances, the first Elite Eight appearance in school history, and the school’s first No. 1 ranking, this period will be the hardest period of any to pick the Top 10 men’s basketball players.
There are plenty of greats who set records, made names for themselves, and will never be forgotten.
As always, this list is about how great these Vols were as players on the Vols, not how great they were in the NBA.
