Hunter, who played for the Tennessee Volunteers from 2010 to 2012 during the Derek Dooley and Tyler Bray years, turned himself into police after a warrant was filed, according to News Channel 5 in Nashville.
"Authorities said they were called to a large fight at Sandbar Raw Bar in the 2100 block of Atlantic Avenue in the late night hours of July 3.A victim was later taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.According to investigators, the suspect was Hunter."
News Channel 5 was also able to release a mugshot of Hunter.
The investigation is continuing, but this is obviously terrible news for the Titans and also a terrible look for the Vols.
This was supposed to be Hunter’s make or break year, as we were already waiting for him to break out. Now, depending on what comes out of this, that may never happen.
Hunter is the perfect size for an athlete and has been hailed as a guy with a ton of potential, and it was presumable that he would get a lot of balls thrown his way this year with a rookie quarterback who would desperately look for the easiest pass much of the time.
Now, the make or break has gone to likely just break. And honestly, Hunter was the last guy you would expect to see this from among former Vols.
But again, we don’t know all of the details yet.
