Tennessee vs. Oklahoma is now a pick ’em match-up across most lines, according to multiple reports on Odds Shark.
There are two lines with the Volunteers as a -1 point favorite and one line with the Sooners as a -1 point favorite, and 10 lines have an even spread. That makes this game a complete toss-up, and it is saying as much on ESPN.
The over-under for the game is 61 at this point.
Calling this a toss-up makes sense given that it is too Top 25 teams with the lower-ranked team at home and with more momentum from the offseason.
However, the lower-ranked team also has a terrible history in big games like this dating back to 2008, even though both teams have an awful track record overall.
This is definitely one of the hardest games for anybody to pick this week, and fans of both teams are seriously holding their knows. It also makes sense for Oklahoma to have opened as a favorite.
After last year’s thumping of the Vols, the Sooners know they are good enough to win this game. But Tennessee hopes it is good enough to beat Oklahoma.
That puts all the psychological advantages in Oklahoma’s favor with the exception of the pressure surrounding Bob Stoops, who has Oklahoma fans now wanting him out the door after his late-season collapse last year.
The Sooners would love a win Saturday to prove they are back to being one of the elite college football programs. And it would be a huge way to give Stoops more momentum.
But the Vols are just as desperate, wanting to show they are back. This will make for a huge game between both teams.
