Tennessee vs. Western Carolina features the Vols trying to rebound after a tough loss last week against the Catamounts. Here is the game’s official preview.

Before we right off this game, remember this is one of 12 opportunities all year for the Vols to play football. So Vol Nation needs to look at this as another game on the schedule.

After Auburn’s scare with Jacksonville State last week and Arkansas’s loss to Toledo, taking teams too lightly has obviously been a huge issue in the SEC.

Tennessee cannot afford to be the next victim of that.

The Volunteers will have a hard time focusing on this game coming off of a loss to Oklahoma last week that they still likely cannot get over and with Florida on the schedule next week.

Western Carolina is a solid FCS program that returns a lot of talent from last year, and the Catamounts will be hoping to catch the Vols off-guard today by keeping them unfocused.

They could be good enough to do that with a complex spread offense that they run, and the Vols will have to be on their heels all day against that up-tempo system.

Not remaining focused could cost Tennessee and give them more of a fight than they would want. They do not want to see that and would like to put their backups in early.

So they need to remain as focused as possible.

Here is the basic information on the game.

Who: Tennessee vs. Western Carolina

When: Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m

Where: Knoxville, Tenn. at Neyland Stadium

Television: ESPNU

Live Stream: WatchESPN

The Vols should win this game running away and have everything in control when halftime rolls around. But that is only if they remain focused and know that they actually have a football game to play today.
