Two Key Florida Gators Players Suspended vs. Tennessee Vols

The path for the Tennessee Vols to end their ten game losing streak to the Florida Gators became a little easier on Wednesday as Gators head coach Jim McElwain announced that cornerback Jalen Tabor and quarterback Treon Harris have been suspended for the matchup against the Vols on Saturday.

McElwain, according to ESPN, said that Harris and Tabor were suspended for “some choices they made”.

Tabor has started every game for the Gators this season and has been one of the best players in their secondary. His absence should make things noticeably easier for the Volunteers in the passing game.

Harris had success against the Vols last season. He replaced Jeff Driskel in the game and led Florida to a come-from-behind victory.

But there was no guarantee that Harris was going to start against Tennessee on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Will Grier started the past two games for Florida and will now start against the Vols.

However, given the Vols’ penchant for losing to backup quarterbacks, UT fans have to be pleased that scenario is no longer in play.

Florida and Tennessee kick off at 3:30 PM ET on CBS Sports on Saturday.
