More from All for Tennessee

This all-time Tennessee football team for Johnny Majors features 14 All-Americans, six NFL Pro Bowlers, one NFL Hall-of-Famer and over 250 years of NFL experience among these 50 players. Simply put, over time, Majors brought in a ton of talent to Rocky Top, and it’s on display with his all-time team here.

As was clear on here, it was hard to name everybody given how loaded the Vols were with talent under Majors. We named who we could, but we should also note we left out Brian Ingram and Mark Studaway as edge rushers who just missed this list. Todd Kelly would be on here for his 1992 season, but lots of that success came under Phillip Fulmer, so we left him off.

Still, those three deserved honorable mentions along with the other players we put in the depth chart. This talent would allow for Majors to have a diverse team where he could open up his offensive playbook and also rely heavily on NFL talent. That’s always the goal when you’re building a team, and this should give you an idea of the talent the Vols began to produce under him.

Majors made great use of many of these guys, a huge reason they became Tennessee football superstars in the first place. This elite depth chart is a great testament to everything he was able to do during his time on Rocky Top, and it’s another great way to honor his legacy. His all-time team could dominate any college football program ever.
