What really stands out here is the fact that the Vols did a pretty good job stocking up their class in the trenches. Even with the firing of Jeremy Pruitt and hiring of Josh Heupel, which suggests they’ll go more finesse, they added four defensive linemen and four offensive linemen, and as we’ll get to on our next slide, two of those defensive linemen are unanimous four-stars.
Trinity Bell could be an athlete, which he is listed as on 247Sports. That would drop the number of tight ends down to one and the number of athletes up to three. There’s a chance Bell ends up playing defensive end for Tennessee football. However, he’s listed still as a tight end on Rivals and ESPN, so we kept him there. Still, moving to defensive end would make for five defensive linemen.
Another player who could alter these numbers depending on what happens would be Andison Coby, who we mentioned doesn’t appear to be signed yet. If he is lost, that brings the number of wide receivers down to two. Once again, Kaidon Salter is the standout at quarterback in this class as a unanimous four-star.
