Recruiting season is always busy, but right now we're in a bit of a lull, though it’s not quite the same for Tennessee. Their biggest recruit, five-star running back David Gabriel Georges, has a commitment date of July 22, and Josh Heupel and the staff are doing whatever they can to get Tennessee to be the destination for Gabriel Georges.

5-star freshman QB Faizon Brandon is doing what every Vols fan wants to hear

The Vols are going head-to-head with Ryan Day and Ohio State for his commitment, a battle that Tennessee can win, but it will be far from easy. The Vols have beaten the Buckeyes on the recruiting trail before, but Ohio State is one of the toughest programs in the country to beat when it comes to landing elite prospects. With that in mind, Tennessee is pulling out all the stops in this recruitment.

Tennessee radio host Tony Basillo had some big news regarding Gabriel Georges and the Vols' pursuit. He said:

"Tennessee is pulling out all the stops. In fact Georges is scheduled to meet and work out with former Vol running back Alvin Kamara who happens to be a player Georges is extremely fond of. We've also learned that Georges has requested Tennessee's running back workout training plan."

Tennessee is using Alvin Kamara to recruit David Gabriel Georges

Looking back at David Gabriel Georges’ official visit, Tennessee brought in former Vols star running back Alvin Kamara to help recruit him to Knoxville. It was something that really stuck with Gabriel Georges, and once again the Vols are pulling out all the stops ahead of his announcement in late July.
If you’re a Tennessee fan, you have to like this move by Heupel. Having a Tennessee legend talk to Gabriel Georges about how great Knoxville is can only help the Vols’ chances.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that Kamara has had an amazing NFL career. In his long NFL career, he's made five Pro Bowls and was a two-time All-Pro. Kamara has truly been one of the standout backs in the NFL throughout his career. His unique blend of running and receiving skills adds a special spark that sets him apart from other players. Seeing him step up in front of Gabriel Georges really highlights how impactful he can be, especially in these high-profile recruitments.

While the Vols appear to be in a great spot, you never truly know in recruiting. Ohio State can always make a late push with an increased NIL offer or promises of playing time. Tennessee, however, seems to have the strongest relationships with David Gabriel Georges and the people around him, which obviously bodes well for the Vols. Even after Georges announces his commitment, this recruitment likely won’t be over. December, when the paperwork is officially signed, will be the true moment that determines his future.
