With the Tennessee Lady Vols losing the entire roster this offseason, the fanbase has grown increasingly critical of head coach Kim Caldwell. That said, the team has added a very talented guard from Liberty who should help tremendously, and they’ve added another standout player today.
Vols fans need to get used to Kim Caldwell as Tennessee seems to stick with head coach
On3's Talia Goodman has reported that Northern Arizona guard Naomi White has just committed to Tennessee. White averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, shooting 39% from the field last year. White also shot 36% from three, so she can extend the floor and shoot the long ball. This is another really solid get for the Lady Vols. They need to keep stacking up these little wins. It's also nice that she averaged nearly two steals a game, showing that she can play all 94 feet, something that Caldwell's system requires.

Naoimi White is a solid addition
The primary concern with White is her efficiency, which was inconsistent during her time at Northern Arizona. That said, it’s common for freshmen to face an adjustment period in Division I, and she still averaged 20 points per game. Against a power conference opponent in Arizona, White put up 27 points on 8-17 shooting from the field.
Adding a player like White is significant, especially with three years of eligibility remaining. It’s always a plus to bring in talented players who have multiple years to develop within the program. I really like the fact that she fits the system as well. Tennesse needs buy-in from everyone to run Cladwell's scheme. Now, Tennessee needs to focus on adding more players and getting this team ready for next season. The roster is a long way away from being complete, but with some time and money, it should take shape.
