Vols walking tightrope as path to Vegas win total requires near-flawless execution
Right now, the Tennessee Volunteers football have six wide receivers in the NFL, and with Chris Brazzell II expected to hear his name called this week, likely on Thursday or Friday, they’re set to add another. Currently in the league are Jauan Jennings, Joshua Palmer, Cedric Tillman, Jalin Hyatt, Velus Jones Jr., and Dont'e Thornton. That’s an impressive group overall with multiple reliable veterans.
The bottom line is this isn’t a recent trend. Either the vols have done a tremendous job all time, producing NFL wide receivers, as they have 45 wide receivers drafted, putting them at third all time in the common draft era.

Tennessee wide receiver production has been superb
What makes this even better is that Tennessee has been doing this for generations. Stanley Morgan was a first-round pick in 1975 and had a great NFL career with over 10,000 receiving yards and two Second-Team All-Pro nods. Anthony Miller followed in 1985 with over 9,000 yards and four Pro Bowls. More recently, Donte’ Stallworth also carved out a strong NFL career as a first-rounder. This isn’t just a Heupel-era thing, as it’s been going on for decades.
Some time this weekend, Chris Brazzell will hear his name called, and he will help add to this list. His draft stock has been all over the place, with some people thinking he could go late in round one or fall all the way to the third. It seems the most likely scenario is that he slides somewhere in the second round.
Brazzell has so many great qualities that can help him succeed in the NFL. He's big, strong, and athletic, and he really knows how to make big plays down the field. With such a large catch radius, there's a lot of exciting potential for a successful career ahead.
