Will college football fans everywhere find out where the nation's No. 1 running back will commit to soon? That's what a lot of people are hoping for, as 5-star prospect Savion Hiter previously trimmed his offers list down to four schools and an announcement is expected soon.

However, the recent buzz has been that two teams continue to separate themselves in the chase to land his services. That'd be the Tennessee football team and Michigan. Josh Heupel and Sherrone Moore both want Hiter and they want him bad.

While Hiter hasn't said he's down to the two schools, Steve Wiltfong has reported that both programs continue to go all-in to come out on top. Georgia was hoping to get his commitment after Derrek Cooper spurned the Dawgs for Texas, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen:

Tennessee is doing everything it can to try and land 5-star RB Savion Hiter

It's time for Heupel to put all of his chips in the middle of the table and do what he can to make sure Hiter's college days are spent in Knoxville and not in Ann Arbor. That's of course easier said than done, as Moore has done an unreal job in attracting elite talent to play for him.

Last year, he signed Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the country. Oh, but keep in mind that Tennessee holds the commitment of 5-star QB Faizon Brandon, the No. 1 QB in the land for the 2026 cycle. David Sanders Jr. and Gabriel Osenda (2026 commit) will be ready to open up huge holes for Hiter down the road too.

That will only be the case if Hiter wears an orange jersey at the next level. Things are still a bit up in the air here, but the Virginia product, ranked the No. 15 playmaker for 2026 nationally, seems like he's inching closer to making his final call. Will it be Michigan or Tennessee? We don't have to tell you that we're hoping he ends up rocking with the Vols.
