Despite massive roster overhaul, Tennessee left out of offseason winners conversation.

Tennesse has had the best offseason in school history. They added five elite stars in Juke Harris, Terrence Hill Jr., Dai Dai Ames, Jalen Haralson, and Tyler Lundbalde. Many fans were panicking when Rick Barnes lost a ton of players to the portal at the start of the offseason, but he calmly identified top talent and got it done for the Vols when it mattered most.

To go a step further, If you ask anyone who had the best offseason in college basketball, they’ll say the Tennessee Vols, or they will at least be in the conversation. Unless it’s Jeff Goodman and the Field of 68 crew, because somehow they left Tennessee off the list despite an insane offseason.

Tennessee snubbed of best offseason

Don't get me wrong, Texas added plenty of good talent, but I still think the Vols had a better overall haul. Same with Saint Louis, they were a really good major squad, but again, they didn't add talent as they did in Knoxville. Saint Louis has only the No. 93-ranked class in 247Sports' rankings. I mean, c'mon. The Vols have a top-three class in the nation; you cannot just dismiss them like that with Saint Louis. Tennessee was already an Elite Eight team last year, and they got even better, plus they're led by a future Hall of Fame head coach.

Florida and Illinois both make sense on the list. They kept elite talent from teams that were national title contenders last year. What still stands out, though, is how overlooked Tennessee is in comparison. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter why the Vols rank as they will have to prove it on the court anyway, but it's baffling that the Vols ranked so high on this list. Just more motivation for Barnes and Co.
